Our Hound who art in Heaven

5 Hounds assembled at the allotted hour this week. Only Steve missing.
The first thing that struck me as odd was the fact that Robson was drinking lime cordial. Turns out that he and Graham had been pickling themselves from 15.30 the previous afternoon and what with the Oaks coming up on the Friday discretion was viewed as the better part of something or other.
Still reeling from Robson's bizarre beverage choice he then followed this up by claiming that he used to be a choir boy. Well, I've never heard the like and probably never will.

After that, the quiz seemed fairly tame. For some reason I have 2 sets of photos bearing the title 'Italian picture quiz' but I'm sure that wasn't it. The current affairs lived up to their monicker and then there was a round on pubs, I kid you not. These were actually fictional pubs such as the Woolpack and Jamaica Inn. But on a night for revelations Kevster was astounded to hear of a detective series by the name of Rebus. Unsurprisingly we didn't get his local which was the Flying Scotsman.

I think the connection this week was birthdays but we didn't put that preferring to believe that all of them, including Angelina Jolie and Russell Brand, had at some stage won the Derby.

It's probably about half time now so here come the 10 pointers. If you're playing along at home see if you can spot the deliberate mistake:
1) the Give Way sign is the only traffic sign made with an inverted triangle
2) Wiki is a Japanese word
3) staying alive was the sequel to Saturday night fever

And for those of you watching in black and white, question 2 is the one before question 3

Second half and all the teams changed ends and kicked the other way, which is a magnificent thing to behold.

Connections was 10 countries with winning European cup teams. We chose to forego our usual 7 out of 10 and managed to get the whole blimmin' lot.

Jeopardy was the round that did for us, as so often. We went for all ten but slipped on 2. The number of years it takes for Bill Haley and the Comets to come round is 75 and I think there was another number question we got wrong. 5 is a number but apparently it wasn't the one they were looking for this week.

Finishing with the music round Robson had a Fast Car, Pete was So Lonely, Kevster wanted to Love You a Little bit More but most strange of all was Graham claiming to be Young, gifted and black. I would question at least 2 of those statements.

That's all folks
